How to Preview PDF Pages Before Sharing

What a PDF preview actually shows you

PDFDistrict’s Preview tool loads your PDF and displays every page as a thumbnail in a scrollable grid. At a glance you can see:

• The total page count — shown immediately after the PDF loads
• What each page contains — the thumbnails are detailed enough to identify sections, images, charts, and text blocks
• The page order — useful for catching transposed or missing pages before they cause confusion
• Orientation issues — a sideways page is immediately visible in the grid

The Preview tool is read-only. It does not modify the PDF, and it makes no changes to your file at all. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere.

When to preview before editing or sharing

A few common situations where a quick preview saves time:

• Before splitting or extracting — seeing all page thumbnails helps you identify exactly which pages to split at or which to extract
• Before sending a merged PDF — verifying the final document has all the right pages in the right order, especially when you combined several files
• Checking a scanned document — confirming no pages are blank, upside-down, or in the wrong sequence
• On a device without a PDF reader — the Preview tool works in any modern browser; no software installation required

How to preview a PDF

1. 1 Open the Preview tool at pdfdistrict.com/preview/ and select your PDF.
2. 2 Scroll through the thumbnail grid. Every page is visible. The total page count appears at the top.
3. 3 If you spot an issue — wrong order, rotated page, blank page — use the appropriate tool to fix it: Reorder, Rotate, or Delete.

What the Preview tool does not do

The Preview tool is a viewer, not an editor. It does not let you:

• Zoom into page content or select text
• Annotate, sign, or fill form fields
• Modify the PDF in any way

Its purpose is quick inspection — confirming what’s there before you act on the document. Actual editing is done with the other PDFDistrict tools.
