About PDFDistrict
PDFDistrict is a free toolkit for the everyday tasks people need to do with PDF files — combining, splitting, compressing, converting, and more — built to run entirely in your web browser.
What it does
PDFDistrict offers 21 focused PDF tools: merging files together, splitting a PDF into parts, compressing file size, reordering or deleting pages, organizing pages in one view, extracting specific pages, rotating pages, cropping the visible area, adding page numbers, a text watermark, text or an image, signing, converting images to PDF (with optional resizing), converting a PDF to JPG or PNG images or to plain text, removing metadata, and previewing every page of a document as thumbnails. Each tool lives on its own page and is used directly — no menus to dig through, no settings to configure first.
How it works
That's the core design decision behind the whole site: every PDF operation happens locally, on your device, inside the browser tab you already have open. There's nothing to install and no account to create — you open a tool, choose a file, and get your result.
Who it's for
PDFDistrict is built for anyone who occasionally needs to do something simple with a PDF — a student combining assignment pages, someone shrinking a file before emailing it, a freelancer removing a page from a scanned contract — without installing desktop software or handing a document over to a service that might store or repurpose it. If you just need the task done and want to keep the file to yourself, that's the use case PDFDistrict is built around.
Who runs this
PDFDistrict is an independent project, not affiliated with Adobe, Smallpdf, iLovePDF, or any other PDF service. It's built and maintained on a small scale — there's no company, no team page, and no funding round behind it, just a site built around one design decision (process files locally, in the browser) and kept working. If something is broken or unclear, the fastest way to reach the person behind it is the contact page.
