Not sure which PDF tool you need?

A few operations sound similar but do different things. Here's the quick version:

Split, Extract, or Delete?
  • Split — divides one PDF into several files.
  • Extract — creates a new file from the pages you pick.
  • Delete — removes the pages you don't want, keeping the rest.
Merge or Reorder?
  • Merge — combines two or more separate PDFs into one.
  • Reorder — changes the page order inside one PDF you already have.

About PDFDistrict

PDFDistrict is a free PDF toolkit that runs entirely in your web browser. There's nothing to install and nothing to sign up for — open a tool, drop in a file, and download the result. It covers the everyday tasks people search for most: merging PDFs together, splitting one PDF into several files, compressing a PDF before emailing it, rotating pages that scanned in sideways, reordering or deleting pages, extracting a handful of pages into a new document, and turning a batch of JPG or PNG photos into a single PDF.

What makes it different from most "free PDF converter" sites is where the work happens: directly on your device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, which means no upload wait, no storage on our end, and no third party ever sees the contents of your document.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server? +
No. Absolutely not. All processing is done directly on your device. Your files never leave your device and are never sent to our servers.
Is PDFDistrict really free? +
Yes, completely free. The site is supported by non-intrusive advertising. There are no hidden fees, no account requirements, and no watermarks on your files.
What browsers are supported? +
Any modern browser works: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. We recommend keeping your browser updated for best performance. Internet Explorer is not supported.
Is there a file size limit? +
There is no server-imposed limit since everything runs locally. However, very large files (100MB+) may be slow depending on your device's RAM and CPU. Most typical PDFs process instantly.
Can I use this on mobile? +
Yes! PDFDistrict is fully responsive and works on mobile browsers. Some tools with page reordering are easier on desktop, but all core functions work on phones and tablets.
How does compression work? +
Compression rebuilds the PDF's internal structure, removing redundant data left over from edits — it doesn't resample or recompress images or text. How much smaller the result is depends on how the file was created: documents resaved many times often shrink noticeably, while already-optimized or image-heavy PDFs may barely change.
