Practical use cases
- Making a photo PDF small enough for an upload limit.
- Sending phone photos of a document without a huge attachment.
- Combining a batch of pictures into a lightweight PDF.
What changes in your images
Every image is saved as a JPEG, so transparent areas of a PNG become white. Lower quality and smaller dimensions reduce size but also detail; try the defaults first (2000 px, 75%).
Common problems
- The PDF is still large: lower the longest side or the quality, or use fewer photos per file.
- Text in a photographed document looks soft: raise the quality or the longest side; text needs more resolution than a landscape photo.
- A photo appears sideways: the image’s orientation data decides how it is drawn; rotate the photo in a photo app first if needed.
