How it works Blog FAQ

Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

The short version: PDFDistrict never uploads your PDF or image files, and cookies have nothing to do with how your files are processed. Cookies and similar technologies are used only for traffic analytics (Google Analytics 4) and for the advertising that keeps the tools free (Google AdSense).

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way. They can be used to remember a preference, to measure how a site is used or to show advertising.

2. What PDFDistrict stores itself

PDFDistrict has no accounts, no login and no server-side database, so it sets no login or session cookies. The site may keep a small preference in your browser’s local storage, for example to remember that you dismissed the language suggestion banner. This is strictly functional and is never shared.

3. Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit the site and which pages they view. Google Analytics uses cookies to recognise a browser between visits. This data is not linked to the files you process, because those files never leave your device.

4. Google AdSense

Advertising from Google AdSense helps keep PDFDistrict free. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, including ads based on your previous visits to this or other websites (personalized ads). You can manage personalized advertising in Google’s Ad Settings. To learn which cookies Google uses and for how long, see Google’s cookie information.

5. Your choices and how to change your consent

  • Consent message. In regions where it is required (such as the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), Google’s consent message (Google Funding Choices) asks for your choices and passes them to Google Analytics and AdSense.
  • Change your mind at any time. Use the Cookie settings link in the footer to reopen the consent message. Where the message is not required it does not appear, and this page is all there is to review.
  • Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so does not stop the PDF tools from working; it may only affect analytics and advertising.

6. Your PDF files

Everything you do with a PDF or an image happens inside your browser. Files are not uploaded, are not stored by us and are not placed in any cookie. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

8. Contact
